Hood Klik in The House
Interview:
Trinity, Crazy8~on~Cloud9 a/k/a , & Siddie
If you’re looking for an ambitious crew holla at Hood Klik specifically: Trinity, 89', & Siddie. They do it all! They’re just coming around the corner with they quick flow and fun nature- so be prepared. Not only do they have what it takes musically but they also know that it’s an asset to have a business sense too. These guys were discovered at a show and now with the motivation and support from friends and family they are putting in work with more: shows, videos, and tracks. Their goals are to position themselves in Toronto. They are open for any opportunity to get exposure: rap battles, features on mixtapes, shows, callabo’s, radio- you name it, they want it!
How did you get into the BUSINESS of this industry (networking, friends, shows)?
89' & Trinity respond:
Basically thru shows! Trane Studio was one of our first open mic performance from when we got noticed by: Domansi! He’s (Domansi) how we got noticed- president of cloud 9 Enterprises (the founder), Opened up the shows and networking at his spot every Thursday, currently at Mood Lounge. Doing it was a hobby at first but people said we should pursue it more– we so good!! People told us we needed to know the business side- to meet financial success.
Where do you see the Toronto Underground industry in two years?
Group:
Still underground!! -Probably be bigger, everyone hearing Drake, we (Hood Klik) plan to be up there- so we gonna help the scene. It might be more mainstream! Look at Drake, a Toronto Artist, his videos are reaching number 1 on American networks. When was the last time someone from Canada had it like that!?
Besides the obvious talent that you have what other assets do you have to be a successful?
Group:
We’re all in College (Trinity, Siddie & 89’)- right now we enrolled in a business program. Artists in Toronto if you don’t know what to do- Networking, business, have the “it factor”, have to be an entertainer- all in one basically! Unless you have money and get other people to do it for you!
You have a new video coming out soon can you let us in on what we can expect?
Group:
Oh ya we have a video coming out next week it’s called: “Blood on My Finger Tips”. Directed by: Slim. It was filmed in Toronto, mostly the East end. Check it out at: www.HoodKlik.com!!
You are from: Hood Klik | On De' Grind enterprise (www.HoodKlik.com), what is the next milestones for y’all?
Group:
Right now get out there- easily assessable to the public. If I ask you who we are and you know- that’s good! Doing: performances, TV Shows, Music videos- ya lots of videos, Hood Klik Album coming soon.
How do you get in the “zone” best during shows or when you’re in the studio?
Siddie- just picking up the mic
Trinity- for shows- just feed off the crowd, I might be nervous before the shows but when I pick up the mic it’s on
89'- Shot of Hennessey/ liquor don’t hurt you know!
Trinity- the fans and supporters of real music, the groupies too
I was watching one of the video’s on your website doing a performance with Lokz (www.HoodKlik.com) Trinity, is that you with the quick flow- how did you find your talent?
Trinity- All three of us do actually.. We take it to “A Whole ‘nother levellll!”
Siddie- grade 7/8 rhyming and joking around at school that’s how I found out about freestyle battles.
Trinity adds in- Siddie is undefeated on freestyle battles
89’- started rapping and freestyle’in for fun (wasn’t too good at freestyle though) Recorded my first track- “On the Grind”- its on Grind Ent. My cousin got me into fast flow! I merked it and that was it…
Trinity- and the groupies!! (haha)
89’- started out hanging at Lokz studio, heard some underground beats. I guess that’s when I started and practice practice…and we never had a disappointment from any of our shows or audience.
You are currently in school are you taking something to leverage yourself in the music industry or are you taking something different?
Group:
Its 50/50- took a business course to apply that knowledge to the industry but not just tha,t we want to venture out- decreases the chances of failure. I’m on the Jigga thing…if I ever say I’m going to retire- its just to get more records sales- a Jigga thing! I’ll never stop creating music fully.
Do you have any shows lined up for the future?
Trinity:
Check out www.HoodKlik.com
Got two: May 20th, with MVP sound crew- google him, or check out MVPSoundCrew.com !
AND
May 27 at Mood Lounge with Cloud 9 Ent. (Bay/ Bloor- 123 Cumberland St.)
What is your best track and why?
Group:
Hmmm, we don’t have many tracks with all of us on them. But the people seem to like “Smoking That Dro” or “On De’ Grind” – ya people/ everyone loving dat, the other one- same thing! OH “Blood on My Finger Tips” is a banger, some real music, And “Go Getta’” is being mastered right now, (look out for the video).

I am really loving the theme/design of your website. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility issues? A small number of my blog visitors have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any solutions to help fix this issue?
