An innovative and unique way to bring people together in the underground/indie entertainment industry from reading about your fav artists, to gaining more traction in your career, to finding the style of music you are looking for, all in one place. The possibilities are endless:
The official name of the company is HOOKEDUPB MAG or HOOKEDUPB for short. The company is an online magazine about local (not limited to) underground/indie music, and entertainment news. HOOKEDUPB was created, and operated by Lyndsay Brown for the indie artists of Toronto (but not limited too), who need a platform to be noticed by the public, and major record labels.
HOOKEDUPB (UP 'N COMING) MAG went through a test market phase that started in 2008 and continued progressing with business until 2011 where the company owner Lyndsay Brown decided to go on hiatus. Even on hiatus Lyndsay Brown wrote bios and did some video promotion along with maintaining relationships in the industry. In the past HOOKEDUPB wrote an approximate of five stories a month than promoted those stories online for one month on social media outlets such as: Facebook, Reverbnation, Myspace, SoundCloud, and Twitter. To add value to the readers entertainment news became a part of the mix.
Lyndsay Brown still sees a huge potential for underground/indie industry at this time 2015, and believes it will continue to grow strong in the future. The business has relaunched with the same mission, and vision (listed to your right on this page) doing the same thing as before. HOOKEDUPB MAG is now rebuilt with a better platform, and better understanding on how to run a legit business.
THE RELAUNCH 2015: Now back July 2015, HOOKEDUPB MAG will be selling packages for all music genres: Written Interviews, Video Promotion, written Music Reviews, Event Coverage (ie. behind the scenes), and will also sell ads space in the Directory section of the website + all services come with online promo. There will be a grand opening promotion on the fee for the services we offer!!
