~Niagara Falls Experience/Review~
Niagara Falls is a tourist attraction located in Ontario close to the United States boarder featuring two famous waterfalls- one Canadian and the other American. There are other
attractions in the Niagara area too- it’s like a tiny Los Vegas for the family! Besides the waterfalls- other attractions are the: Bird Kingdom, Rock Legend Wax Museum, Fireworks, Casino,
Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Moving Theater, Indoor Water Park, Arcade; just to name a few. This small city has one of a kind architect with building sized characters on the entrainment/
restaurant/ theater structures accompanied by music and lights throughout. Booking a vacation here would leave no regrets- it is accessible to everyone from any income status and/ or
demographics.
There are plenty hotels/ motels to rest your head in Niagara Falls area. There is your typical Holiday Inn with many comforting accommodations to suite your needs and there are
independent Hotels at a lower cost. Continuing, attractions are the same regarding cost, some are free and others have higher rates. Lots of choices for food too, there are: fast food, cultural
dinning, Planet Rock, and fancy restaurants. “Nightlife” is there but a little harder to find- places to look for are: the Hard Rock Café, Roomer’s Nightclub, and Yank’s Bar. Meeting new people
is likely while you join in the fun!
Since this is a tourist attraction with many “first timers”, “repeat visitors”, and “locals” together- learning new things is almost guaranteed. Apparently the “locals” rarely come
to attractions area and “come out late at night around 11pm- 12pm”- was a common statement made. There are “repeat visitors” their themes include: business trip, guys’ night out,
honeymooners, and FUN EXPERIENCE. Lastly, the “first timers” who are the majority easily recognized by picture taking, video recording, asking for directions, asking for other (lol), and
discussing “background” information (“where are you from”). A place to see Canadian’s and American’s get along and clash at the same time.
Intriguing aspect about coming here are the egos of people who come and visit Niagara Falls. Lots of questioning, pointing and even accusing going on related to “where I’m
from” and “where you’re from”. Over all still a positive experience and a chance to communicate with those you may not otherwise. Niagara Falls makes for lifelong memories.
NOTE: A traveler’s tip is to stop at the Niagara Falls Information Centre first and grab: coupons, map, entertainment, and hotel recommendations.

Canada Day @ Downsview Park (Toronto)
July 1st 2009 marks the birthday of our “home and native land”- Canada! Downsview Park held a free
12-hour celebration for the city. On a ‘normal’ Canada Day in Toronto there are usually many city ran events that are free. Due to the current civic city strike most events were cancelled. With
limited choices to celebrate with the family many people traveled to Downsview Park to enjoy Canada Day. (Also, it was an extra special occasion to mark HOOKEDUPB’s ‘one-year strong’ for writing
underground related news).
Downsview Park had lots of attractions to bring out hundreds of people such as: bouncy tents, games, rides, The Fire Show, Aidan Orange, and the main squeeze the Fireworks
Show. The place was packed, the line-ups for rides and games went on forever, the fields filled with cars, and diversity contributed to the excitement in the air.
A nice surprise was Aiden Orange (he’s been on the David Letterman Show before) and the entertaining tricks he did like: juggling rods of fire, double jointed Aiden in a way
turned himself inside out, and fit his body through a tennis racket sized object juggling balls at the same time. Not too long after was The Fire Show with The Fire Guy, Aiden Orange, and a few other talented and funny fire tricksters. This drew out a large audience who laughed and were held in
suspense. When the Fireworks Show started, everyone was having fun; most had to run to the fireworks
site so that they wouldn’t miss a moment.
At the end of the night herds of people scrambled to find a way out of Downsview Park by foot, car, and bus; causing traffic jams in every direction surrounding the park. Canada Day
at Downsview Park was: fun, exciting, and they definitely get props for not canceling out on Canadians; Fireworks Show was major!
