TiGGz Interview 

TiGGz is a young buck ($) making mad attempts to stabilize his position in the Hip Hop game by being a part of many different projects on youtube.com.Diligently working on: networking and putting together his soon to come mixtape! They say location, location, location is one of the most important aspects of making all the later possible, and so he took a gamble and moved to the city... 

Being from Orangeville Ontario did you find it necessary to move to Toronto to increase you chances of success regarding your musical pursuit? 

Oh, I just don’t want people to think I’ve lived there for my whole life I was only there like 4 years! Ya, just to move forward you have to live close to Mississauga or Toronto. For me to get to KOTD it would take a 1-hour and a half to get there, and we could drink, if we wanted to we would have to find a person that would come to KOTD that doesn’t want to drink so we would have a ride! Now I can get krunk, and take the train back. 

GrimeyBars is a project you are involved with, on the Internet (Youtbe.com) featuring things like various freestyles- what is the next milestone for GrimeyBars? 

Well actually I’m not with GrimeyBars anymore! There was a confrontation about the positions for filming the show. I didn’t want certain guys involved regulating shit. Mischief started GrimeyBars (FREE MISCHIEF). 

I did start my own called WTW (What’s The Word) it’s a DVD instead of just a youtube (.com) channel! It’s still in progress we haven’t released anything yet. 

You have been promoting a *NEW track “Big Dreams” featuring: William Munny from Cali- how did come together? 

Networking, and sending my music to different people. He contacted m- and I’m getting better feed back than I thought! Just so people know I could do it and I wanted to. 

You Need to network, need to get people to listen to your stuff, here (Canada), and in the States. I have talked to Chosen Few from Jersey! 

The new mixtape that is coming out is named: Barack Uh Da Dot VOL. 2- why did you name it that? 

Because my alias was “Talk of the Dot”- when election time came around I just wanted to switch it. I wanted to get away from the all the gun talk I was doing. I want to be positive…“Barack Uh Da Dot” will be my positive side! 

When will that be available to us? 

When my fan page/ facebook group reaches 800 people. So if you invite all your friends to the group it will speed up the release date. For free download on the net! 

There was a battle at KOTD (King Of The Dot) a couple weeks ago that you competed in, how was the experience of being in front of a judges panel, a group of on lookers, video cameras, and your component? 

Um, well it’s a good experience for people doing shows, and its good for people to come and watch. 

It forces you to bring your ‘A Game’, it allows people to hear your music that wouldn’t otherwise hear it! Your whole battle game is different- you know! This was my second time being part of KOTD battles. The first one I did, I went up against Prodical Son, a long time ago…this was my second battle. 

As a Hip Hop artist with fans and supporters- is there anything else you want to say to them? 

Ya sure keep supporting my music, imma keep putting out that music. The battle comes out on June 24 2009. The ‘tape will drop once the page hits 800 people. I want to shout out: Young K, Farq Designs, Yung Pryde, and William Munny.

Land of the Lost- Movie Review

Rate it: adult 10/10, child 8/10

Graphics: 9/10

Genre: PG 13, Adventure/ Comedy Film (2009)

Message: Believe in your self!

Overview:

Dr. Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) is a scientist who had the dream to create a “Time Warp Amplifier”, but after many attempts he failed and had little supporters. He decided to be a science teacher at elementary school. Until one day Holly (Anna Friel) came to him with the proof that his theories are feasible. They worked on a machine that unexpectedly worked and sent them tumbling into the “Land of the Lost” along with a random gas station/ store worker (Danny McBride). There they ran into a man/bear guy named Cha-Ka (Jorma Taccone) a prince from a village in the Land of the Lost. They all became friends; building on their friendships through difficult circumstances and keeping a goofy attitude through out.

The graphics are pretty good overall but you can notice the props for some the scenery. There were surprises that make you want to jump and scream. Further it is funny regarding the sexual content and urban language. Cant be a ‘tight ass’ for this one (lol)! Glad I seen this one in the theater (dinosaur scenes).

~ROTI INTERVIEW~ 

An exclusive interview with King Roti from MastaMindz ENT has been up to a lot of good in spring 2009. Making moves left right and center (perpendicular to the square) live to air on BFTS radio show, taking part in a reality TV show, dropping the music video “Murdera”, planning a video shoot with KIM DAVIS, and so much more! If ya don’t know…now you do:

In May 2009 you and the MastaMindz crew where on the radio show BFTS (Beats From The Streets), you mentioned that times were tuff for you growing up; how’s life treating you now?

Um, life’s treating me all right, I guess…still in the same position, just different opportunities come across. Still have struggles!

So, ‘the word on the street’ is that Roti will be on a Reality TV Show, is that true?

Ya!

Can you give us the details on that (what and when)?

Airing on City TV in the fall, airing on Mondays (I think)…you will see commercials and trailers coming out about it…you’ll see your boi! I’ve already done some promo media about the show; I’ve done some interviews, and features….

Did you find it hard to be ‘comfortable’ during the filming for the reality TV show?

Um at first I didn’t, cameras all in your face, for like 16 hours a day! The craziness came out after, we forgot the cameras where there. Got used to it after a while, mind you the pay was not great…it was ten weeks of shooting. 

The new release “Murdera” by: you (Roti) ft. Sinister has 1,200,000 plus hits on the Internet- what was the most memorable comment you received about that track/video?

I think this guy on youtube(.com)… he said the video was “Too Sick” it was one of the first comments on that video…most people gave really long comments…I think that’s what we all thought when we seen the first cut…we said: it’s TOO SICK!

HOOKEDUPB got a sneak listen to the new single with Kim Davis “Let’s Get Away” it’s a romantically sweet track. Is “getting away” something that’s on your mind a lot?

With a girl (lol)…getting away, ya, with a chick… it’s always good to get away once and a while. It’s about a guy taking a girl out! Not about falling in love- it’s about being in love. I wouldn’t say leave the city but taking her out of the city for a while.

The video shoot is coming up for “Lets Get Away”- can we expect some fly boats and stretch SUV’s in this one, like your other videos (“Waiting For You” and “Murdera”)?

Ha ha! This one we’re gonna put a surprise in- a private jet, one 6 figure SUV, a Coupe, and got a $2000 presidential suite. This should be the biggest video from me. We have pure links on sponsors! And it’s gonna take two days to finish the shoot, and it’s only three weeks away.

“100 Bars” is a track that shows a different side of you, do you feel that it is a massage that needed to be sent?

A message ya of course- for Internet Wangster’s! There’s a lot of people who think they know me from the Internet; and people that are friends, people that know me! I’m talking the truth in that track. People where even saying I couldn’t pull off the past videos I’ve done…

You and the MastaMindz crew put together a “Tell The Children The Truth” charity event this year and donated the proceeds to an orphanage in Sri Lanka. Do you feel you made an impact on bringing awareness on this issue publicly or socially?

First off we made $1,100- a moderate success! We did not get the turn out we expected. It was an ‘in house’ – outta pocket event. It all started because some friends of mine approached me about the topic, so I thought it was worth trying. It turns out people didn’t even show up, it was disappointing! People just talk, talk, talk…I feel good about it though; now there are a few kids in Sri Lanka that get something they wouldn’t have before. Just a little disappointing about people not showing up for the cause; it was only $5 at the door… just got to take it for what it is; I’ll think twice before I do another event like that again.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Yum…look out for the “Lets Get Away” Video- HOT! Tracks going on video! I’m doing a track with Snow (ya SNOW)! The TV show, and I’m in the works of setting up a tour in the UK…and there’s an album in progress, but it’s gotta be a ‘master piece’…I wouldn’t release anything else NOW- before was different though!
