Lights- Camera- Action!!

Model: Gia

Her name is Gia, her style is Urban Hip Hop with a little bit of punk, and her passion is modeling and dance! She has done photo shoots before and also car shows. Gia is building her portfolio and looking for new opportunities for: modeling, photo shoots, events, and even music videos. Ready to take her modeling to the next level learn more about this up- front, unique lady by reading her detailed interview:

How long have you been a modeling for?

Since I was 15

How did you get started modeling? (Agency, independently, friends)

Well I was doing it for a friend he needed a model to pose with his car at a local area Car Show, so as friends we helped each other out!

Where are you from (background and current)?

I am Chinese, and was born in Kunming, Yunnan China. Grew up in Hamilton, lived in Toronto for a couple years on and off, moved out to Victoria BC for almost 4 years and now I live in Guelph.

Can you tell us about your accomplishments as a model?

I felt like i accomplished being a model, when i got to meet my fans, and booked with more shoots, events and contests

Where do you want modeling to take you in the future; dream job?

It was a dream job, but now is more like a hobbie and a part time job! With my son in my life sometimes it’s hard to travel and get to everything I’m invited to. But if I see that “once in a life time” chance I’m not gonna pass it I will grab it!

Have you considered doing: music video’s, commercials, run way?

Oh of course! I’ve always dream to be in missy elliot’s video, that is my goal!! Lol dancing is my life! I think I am too short to be in runway lol and commercial… well I’ve never tried acting so I wouldn’t know… but I’d love to try and do something new, that’s what life is about right?

Do you ever get nervous or uncomfortable while modeling (cloths, positions, situations)?

Oh every time at first until I got used to it and warmed up.

Do you have any car shows or photo shoots est. set up for the future?

Oh yes defiantly I guess you’ll just have to find out when it’s time ;)

What is your favorite: designer, brand of make- up, car, and photographer?

My favorite designer is Chanel, Dereon, and LAMB… make up is MAC, dream car is Shelby from gone in 60 seconds… photographer I’d LOVE to work with nigel barker, Michael Adams, and Victor De Mello, as for the ones I worked with, I really like TUNGZ

Money, Fame, or Fun- explain??

I’d take fun. Cause money and fame won’t give you fun, well maybe at first, but all money and fame do is can bring the ugly out of people and the uglies to you! And of course it cost you NOTHING BUT TROUBLE! Yea it’s nice and all but I’d rather be broke and unknown and have lots fun, that way you value life more.

How can people contact you in the future for those who want to book you as a model (facebook group, myspace)?

Alice in Wonderland (3D)- Movie Review

(By: HOOKEDUPB)

Rate It: Female 8/10, Child 10/10, Men 7/10

Graphics: 10/10

Genre: Family/ Fantasy

Director: Tim Burton

Message: Do what makes you happy- embrace individuality!

Overview:

From the first book (1865) to Disney cartoon (1951) and now 3D animation (2010)- the mystical feel and use of imagination is what everyone remembers about Alice in Wonderland- the colourful cartoon characters: smiling cat, the smoking caterpillar, the Mad Hatter, the white rabbit est. This story has been a childhood favourite for people young and old.

The “remake” in 3D with human characters was released in theatres March 5, 2010 with high expectations from the director Tim Burton after two years of planning and a $250,000,000 budget. The Famous Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter and actress Mia Wasikowska plays Alice in the movie. They both did an outstanding job depicting their characters. The sound track to Alice in Wonderland is making waves too; have you noticed Canadian music artist- Avril Lavigne’s new song called: “Alice (Underground)”, played on MTV. Gives the best example how the movie actually plays out.

Here Take a listen to- Avril Lavigne- “Alice (Underground)”:

Tim Burton brings us a new version of Alice in Wonderland that isn’t has “pretty” as the original. A lot has changed from the release of Disney’s 1951 cartoon version. It has a different start and something I was surprised by was the change from a “bright” wonderland to a “dark” challenge. The scenery had less color and happiness transformed to a burnt and scary world. The 3D graphics were really good maybe even too good; it was hard to enjoy the movie feeling like I had to dodge stuff flying into your face. The characters are simpler than I remember them being, for example the rabbit doesn’t say: “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date”. The plot is more a continuation of the first than a “remake”= “Alice returns”.

A good movie, but it would have been nice if the story line were more like the original as expected.

HOOKEDUPB (Toronto, Canada) introduces a never before international interview in collaboration with Future World Production ( in Kingston, Jamaica).

A Member of Notice Productions Family, Damari has been making waves in the Reggae Industry in Jamaica. Over the years more and more people gravitate to his music with excitement. He has a natural talent for conscious, fun lyrics and shows determination to reach for the stars. Doing online promotion, song downloads, with a diploma in the Jazz and Popular Music Performance Course at Edna Manley College, School of Music in Jamaica. Further, doing live performances- people want to know more about this next rising star. He’s on: youtube, myspace, facebook, the radio, and on road!! Here is an exclusive interview with Damari on: who he is, where he is going, and what he thinks…

1. Before we get started with the interview would you like to tell us a little bit about yourself? (Age, place, job, musical inspiration)

Well my full name is Kumar McCarty Bent; Y’ll know me as Damari. I’m 21 years old and I’m a Musician/Artist/songwriter.

2. Since you are so far from Toronto, Canada can you tell us what the underground music industry is like in Jamaica?

Well my first recording went into mainstream juggling, so the underground industry I have little experience, I have heard though it’s a challenging world due to lack of exposure and funding. I was lucky to have persons believe in me and privileged to have met worked with a lot of the artist and producers before I started.

3. In what ways do you think the Jamaican underground music industry differs from that in Canada or the United States?

Radio. Jamaica has few underground stations, and these stations play mainstream music, lol. In the states listening to the underground stations I hear music that I don’t hear on mainstream radio so it’s a better world for the underground artist in larger countries. Apart from that it’s the same, performances, online promotion, mix tapes, posters and the works.

4. Who are your favorite artists from each country: Jamaica, Canada, & USA? (Major or underground)

Wow, that’s a tough one, especially for Jamaica, as I’m really a big fan of most artist, and I’m really into listening to the young and Upcoming artist that are doing so well such as Romain Virgo, Chino, I-Octane and Mavado definitely, but I guess If I’m to choose I favourite artiste I’ll go with Sizzla Kalongi. For Canada, I’ll have to say Drake and for USA – Lil Wayne

5. How long have you been making music for?

Professionally for five (5) years, but really I started out playing music (Singing, drums and keyboard) at age of nine (9).

6. Have you or do you participate in public performances to promote your music- explain?

Most Definitely, Many! Every performance is promotion, plus giving back to the public is always a pleasure for me and a chance to touch someone, u may never know who is standing in the crowd.

7. It seems although some of your songs (“Time”, “Work”) are like humble lessons that you want to pass onto others to learn from; is that right?

Mos Def. I believe artistes/entertainers have the power to effect change, so since I am in the position to speak to people through my music I prefer to keep the conversations happy, conscious and clean.

8. “Time” is about friends/ acquaintances that in short are snakes; did the inspiration for this song come from a personal experience?

Yes it did. As I live, I learn and grow, in these times. Moving on though. lol

9. What kind of response do you get from your fans? (downloads, comments, radio play, online plays)

Over whelming. The comments are pouring from all over the globe, online plays are growing daily. It can only get better. Trust me, with the help of God.

10. Do you write songs before or after you hear a beat?

Both.

11. You have been promoting Work in the last month or so; do you feel it’s your best work so far?

I believe in all my songs, let’s see if the people believe that “Work” is actually the order of the day. Leave it to the people. lol

12. I think most successful musicians have an underlying message or mission to send to the world; what is yours?

Peace, Love, Unity and joy.

13. What’s next for Damari regarding your music? (Mixtapes, videos, new songs, travel) (Add approximate dates if you can)

Well, there’s a new song about to be released. The Song is called First Love. It’s a beautiful song!!! I know my fans and everybody else will love it, also the Video for it will be released shortly after. Speaking of video, also expect the medley video for the "Dream Riddim" which includes my song Work, artist like Ras Penco, Richie Spice, Kush, Ding Dong, Bugle, Jah cur; Produced by: Unga Notice. Just expect a whole new world of music coming from notice production and Damari, expect mix tapes too.

14. How do you feel about the situation in Haiti right now?

I’m really saddened by the incident, but Joy cometh in the Morning. So, I mean.. Haiti will rise above this catastrophe again with the help of God.

15. Tell Us About Your Relationship with the Label Notice Production.

Well right now, Notice Production is a family. We all are brothers for the same cause. With all the hard work over the years creating hits on top of hits, Notice family is soaring to new heights. Big up Notice Production family - Hard Working Team.

Big up: Unga, Welsh, Carter, Ranoy, Riff Raff, Greg aka dj stripes and chevaughn.

16. Is there anything else you would like to add? (Shout outs, studio, contact information, projects, words of wisdom)
