Terrence ‘Esquire’ Huggins is an ambitious producer/lyricist in Washington, DC with plenty of experience in using top notch equipment to produce music ranging from Dubstep to R&B. Mixing genres together has become a real trend, where sometimes it’s hard to box music into one genre at all. It’s fascinating the way music changes about every decade. For a producer like Esquire this is an excitingly creative pride to revel in by combining sounds/genres together. Esquire’s inspirations are Pharrell and Timberland two of the most innovative applauded producers in the commercial music industry. This says a lot about what he aspires to become.
To accomplish goals one has to be making moves consistently targeting goals to be bigger and better than the last. Right now he is working on a list of about four projects from California to New York. Esquire has also been shopping his music to labels, and wants to continue on that path getting the recognition he deserves. Of course, working with individual artists (and other producers) is not out of the question. Esquire has worked with talented artists who make, in general, urban music. Going above and beyond he cross promotes collaborations on his verified Soundcloud account. Esquire has 959 people following his Soundcloud account that lists 82 uploaded tracks he has completed over the years. At the top of Esquire’s Soundcloud page are tracks he produced for other artists in 2014 like: Avery Grey- “YoUniverse”, William R.I.C.E- “In My Ways”, and Rolando Damian’s entire EP “Forbidden Fruit”. In the past month Esquire has posted new beats on his Soundcloud with an airy elegance sound listen HERE (scroll down a bit). JAHKOY, artist originally from Toronto has been making music from a very young age with the support, and encouragement from his family. I personally have had the pleasure watching him grow as an artist for a long time online. Over the years he has made some major changes as he grew as an entertainer. JAHKOY started out as a Rapper, evolved into a Singer, changing his alias from Raheem to JAHKOY, went from living in Toronto to moving to L.A!
When I learned he moved to L.A I just knew big things would happen for him. Not sure if you noticed, but I also follow Def Jam Records news, and seen signs that he was on their radar. Currently, JAHKOY is now under the Def Jam Records umbrella promoting his love/heartbreak song “Odd Future”; how they picked “Odd Future” from his hugely successful catalog of music I don’t know! Bet it was like picking candy from a candy shop (not easy)! All of his songs are great! His sound can largely be compared to R&B, but has an electric zing to it bringing attention to his work. Another thing that has stood out to me is his choice of cover art/promo art; it matches his music like a puzzle. JAHKOY has of late been choosing leafs, trees, flowers images for art using them in such a way where it’s not too girly, more like a natural/nature like Caribbean classy touch. Bibi Bourelly is a new artist under Def Jam Records from Berlin who just dropped her new rockin’ Jazz/Pop styled Song called “Sally” on Spotify. When I say “new artist” I mean newly coming out with her own catalog of music as an entertainer, because she has been a songwriter or some time; for instance Bibi wrote Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” (BBHM). She comes from an artistic family, only 21 years of age she can dance circles around other artists with her unique soul. Bibi is outgoing by nature, and could definitely intimidate people with her confident boisterous personality. Feb. 22. 2016 she was on a live stream with Def Jam employees broadcasting to fans/supporters, and the #DefJamLife team; let me tell you she is not shy at all. She even calls music business professionals “suits” (lol)…Swears a lot with no regrets, and wants to interact with her fans, so feel welcome to interact with her on social media specifically Twitter and Snapchat; “Snap me, with your blunts & sh!t”- Bibi Bourelly says during the live YouNow broadcast.
Currently, Bibi is in Toronto living the studio life writing songs for the album she is working on (no release date yet). Her song “Sally”, “Ego”, and “Riot” will carry her over until her album comes out for sure; I can see/hear the song “Sally” on radio, and in clubs in…5…4…3…2……

#Canadian Underground Hip-Hop, Drezden’s Story Plus New EP

There can be a lot of discouragement in the underground Hip-Hop industry one can get ten “no’s” before one “yes”, and there’s literally thousands of artists that it can be difficult to stand out. Honest, hardworking, and not your typical Hip-Hop artist Drezden from Manitoba, Canada is upholding a style/image to which he notes is commonly judged for before people even listen to his music, sometimes a bit of a struggle. Regardless he continues to push forward going after his dreams.
With that said, Drezden has indeed performed with: Tech N9ne, Hospin, 2pac’s OutLawz, III Bill, King Gordy, and many more. Further, he has released countless projects like: “The Black Sheep” LP, “Pandem!K”, “Tormented Vol. 1 & 2”, just to name a few. Not sure why, but Drezden was about to give up is Rap hustle before he entered the three day “One Mic” contest held at Canadian Urban Television in 2015. This is where Drezden’s story becomes inspiring for any up N comers; keep reading to get the full dish.
Drezden says he entered the contest blindly; for him it was just another show to perform which is any confident performer’s glory. Not expecting anything he just went, and did his thing on stage as usual. At the “One Mic” event the light shined bright on Drezden, and his talent. He was named the winner of the contest beating out nine other artists!! After his BIG win, Drezden faced two surprises; one being the prize: a distribution deal with Orchard/Versatile Music Group & Sony Music Entertainment, the other he met up with Cash Bradshaw (A&R for Orchard)!! Immediately Drezden’s eagerness to create music resurfaced from the recognition he received from conquering the “One Mic” event.

Kanye West has been trending on twitter for at least a couple weeks now with his exciting news of both his album release, and his high fashion line Yeezy Season 3. Kanye West has been kept media running around in circles trying to keep up with all the changes regarding his album title for instance. The album title in the recent past changed three times (but in total four times); The final album title is now “The Life of Pablo”. Kanye also released two album cover art versions. One before the big show, and one after (picture above). Another, major change or misunderstanding was the release date of the album. Kanye was suppose to release the album on Feb. 11, 2016 or at least fans thought so…He decided to add more tracks to the album than originally expected. On his Twitter account he stated that it is still getting mixed & mastered. On “G.O.O.D FRIDAY” Feb. 12, 2016 he did however release another song called “30 HOURS” for his fans."The Life Of Pablo" has just been released Feb. 14, 2016, it can be streamed on Tidal, and downloaded on his website @ www.kanyewest.com (I think lol) stayed tuned for more on "The Life Of Pablo".
Kanye West's Big Day:
“20 million people plus around the world were trying to stream Yeezy Season 3”, and there was some reported interruptions due to “over whelming demand”. I did not get a chance to stream the show. I did see the reviews, photos, short videos etc. I'm no fashionista, but I haven't personally seen a show this big, this creative, with so much promo ever! In my opinion an amazing feet in itself. I also, thought that the clothing is equally as creative, and unique; I liked the fur designs, the Kardashian special made out fits, and the way the color in the materials faded from a dark color to a light color. Kanye West apparently had his models stand still during the event, rather than have a run way style show. His models picks had all types of races, sizes, and shapes; how refreshing! One other cool bit of info is that Kanye West will launch the Zine (pronounced: Zeen as in magazine) to feature his Yeezy Season Fashion.
Kanye West seemed to have controversy within, and throughout this time period. During his listening session at Yeezy Season 3 his lyrics about…dunt-dunt-daa…Taylor Swift caught people off guard. So here we go again with the Taylor & Kanye rocky relationship!? In short Kanye West says he had permission from Taylor Swift to mention her in his song. Taylor Swift’s team is saying they didn’t know exactly what he was going to say, not prepared for the language used i guess!? Anyway, I hope they clear this up without too much drama, because it seemed like they became great friends.
So, that’s the new Kanye West update for now.

In order to become a top rated or known artist/group in the music industry one has to do a lot more than just create great music. An artist or musician should be doing several things simultaneously such as: branding, production, promotions, performances, and network etc. Professional guidance can be hard to come by in such a huge industry, not to worry help is on its way, if you have the courage to get it.
More, and more opportunities are opening up for those who are really dedicated to their passion for music. We have all heard of industry expo’s, but it’s not often (or ever) that indie styled expos are organized. The wait is over, artists can now register to be a part of the ASCAPEXPO held in L.A April 28-30 2016. This is a three day conference with “education, networking, and inspiration”. This is a very important event with many industry partners/sponsors attending, and supporting the success of music (in this case indie music). Some of the most valuable aspects of this event are that artists have a chance to: present their music to professionals, and receive feedback from those professionals. At least 13 Professional Panelists have been announced…

Introduction:
Madchild is a one of the Swollen Members Hip Hop Group ( Battle Axe Warrior) Rapper's from Vancouver who is currently on the “Silver tongue Devil Tour”. Madchild will be completing about seventy something more "shows in a row" ‘til the end of the tour. Established underground artist has been making music for many years his latest album is “Silver Tongue Devil”. Continuing, about three months ago a ‘beef’ was started with Snak The Ripper on accident!? Not sure whats up with that now…I heard about the 'beef' from Snak The Ripper supporters online. From the looks of it Madchild still gets it in regardless; to the point fans have contacted HOOKEDUPB MAG to express their love for him, and his music!
(Take note that above was HOOKEDUPB decision to give some background info before getting into the "Supporter experience").
Supporter Experience:
An ‘unnamed fan/music enthusiast’ was thrilled to have gotten a chance to do a ‘meet and greet’ while Madchild was in Ontario on tour "last week"; even getting an autograph from Madchild to show off (photo above). She tells me that his show in Ontario was lit. Great performance from Madchild. Further, an insider says that show was one of the best shows during this tour so far (rating crowd hype).

James “Mr. Face” Lamb started Rapping when he was a teenager; at of age 17/18 he started taking his passion for music seriously, as he moved around Ontario. One upside to moving around a lot is he had the opportunity to meet, and make connections with many people/places. Mr. Face has a following of supporters additionally gaining momentum in the Canadian Hip-Hop scene. Back in 2013 Mr. Face started doing performances, recording more music, and then released his first official mixtape. Mr. Face seemed to have mastered the ability of Rapping fast, and keeping the energy contagious for listeners. Moving forward, Mr. Face put together a Hip-Hop group by the name of Prisoners of War Records (P.O.W), and has recently vowed to release music about one or two singles each week; the newest audio being: “My Head” ft. Adsila . On Dec. 11, 2015 he released a self-made music video titled: “Take Notes” off the #TGWMixtape that can be viewed on his YouTube Channel here. Mr. Face goal is to put out his first album (“Welcome To The Nasty North”) in 2016, hoping for features from: Madchild, Pace Won, Slaughter Rico, and JL of BHood just to name a few; people of which he says have already collaborated with in the past! He would also like to note that he has a vision to put out two new mixtapes; one will encompass his emotional side, and the other will focused of the party/life side of his experiences.

#LightsOut? Beyonce Slays in New Music Video

Beyonce dropped a new music video “Formation” on her website at www.beyonce.com Feb. 6, 2016!! Beyonce slays wearing modernized vintage clothing amidst stunning southern vintage flavored scenery; even showing off her, and Jay-Z diva daughter Blue. At one point Beyonce seemed to be emulating Erykah Badu’s style from the Soul Train Awards 2015 wearing a tall top hat, and long braids falling past the fonts of both shoulders. I think there’s some subliminal messages Beyonce wanted to share;quoting: “y'all haters corny with that Illuminati mess”...continues to remind folks, and I paraphrase: she works hard for what she wants, she will always be a country girl, no matter how much money she makes, and she’s got hot sauce in her bag!!
